Hip circles are a simple but effective exercise that mobilises your hips and lower back. It is a good dynamic exercise for warming up before a run or strength session.

Begin by standing tall with feet shoulder width apart and hands on hips. Lift your left knee up in front of you and rotate it out to the side in a circular motion. Imagine you are stepping over a hurdle in front of you as you create large circles. Repeat for the instructed number of reps on both sides and switch up the direction of movement.

You can also use your hands to help assist with this movement. Place them around the back of your thigh as you move your hip up and around.
