A seated Spinal Twist is a restorative yoga pose that improves spinal mobility and hip flexibility. Begin by sitting on the ground with your legs out in front of you. Use a cushion or mat to increase comfort. Take your right leg and cross it over the left leg. If you need support, place your right arm behind you. Raise your left arm to cross over the body and use your elbow push your knee towards the midline. Twist your spine so your gaze is now looking over your right shoulder and towards the back of the room.

The key focus with this movement is to keep your bottom on the floor whilst you twist. Avoid twisting too far so that one of your glutes is raised off of the floor. This should be a comfortable and relaxing pose, don't force it!
