Your Plans brings all your training into one screen, so you can see what you're working on now, what's coming up, and anything you've saved to come back to later. Your schedule stays in your hands. Nothing changes unless you choose it.
Creating an Upcoming Plan
You've got two ways into the same plan creation flow:
The Upcoming section of Your Plans
The create plan button you already know
Both land in the same place. From there you pick your race or goal, choose from your plan previews, and set your details.
When you reach the start date step, you'll see an option to review your calendar. Tap it and you'll see everything you already have scheduled, including your current plan and any upcoming plans. It's a quick way to check you've got room before you lock anything in.
What Each Plan Category Means
Your plans sort themselves automatically, based on their dates and how far through them you are. You don't set these categories yourself. They update as your training moves forward.
Current: is the plan you're training with right now. You'll only ever have one at a time.
Upcoming: is a plan you've scheduled to start later and added to your training calendar.
Completed: plans are the ones you've finished.
Incomplete: plans are ones you started in the past but didn't finish, and that aren't active anymore.
Drafts: are your space to experiment. Build a plan, see how it looks, and decide later whether to commit. A draft stays a draft until you choose to add it, even once its start date comes around, so it never lands on your calendar on its own.
Why a Plan Moved to Your Drafts
If you created a plan and found it waiting in your drafts, here's what happened. The new plan overlapped with one you already had scheduled, so rather than let it push your existing training off the calendar, Runna kept it safely in drafts instead. Nothing was deleted, and your current plan kept running as normal.
This is the default whenever there's a clash, because a lot of people build a plan just to see how it looks before they commit. Your new plan is sitting in the Drafts section ready whenever you want it.
If you actually wanted the new plan to take over, see the next section.
What to do When Two Plans Overlap
When the plan you're creating clashes with one that's already scheduled, Runna catches it before anything changes and lets you choose what happens:
Save it to drafts. This is what we suggest by default. Your new plan stays safely in drafts and your current training carries on untouched.
Adjust your training calendar. Choose this if you want the new plan to take over. Runna moves the overlapping plan into your drafts to clear the way, then adds your new plan to your calendar. The old plan isn't deleted, just set aside so you can come back to it.
Either way, the conflict screen shows you what will happen to any affected plans before you confirm. This check runs whenever you switch your current plan, add an upcoming plan, or create a new one.
Managing Any Plan
Tap any plan card to open its options. You can manage any plan now, not only your current one. The options change depending on the plan. A completed plan, for example, won't show the option to add it to your training calendar.
You'll also see Preview. This shows a condensed view of a plan, its week cards and a summary, so you can see what it involves without switching to it.
One thing worth knowing: if your plan includes B races, scheduling an upcoming plan won't move them. They stay put.
