The Diagonal Toe Tap is a great exercise for runners as it works our body diagonally, the same way we do when we run driving our opposite arm and leg forwards. This exercise is also key to building a strong core, something which is essential for maintaining stability across your whole body when running.
Lie yourself down on the floor with your arms extended above your head and your legs out long. From here, you will bring one leg up as well as the opposite arm, bringing them to meet and tapping your toe before lowering back down.
You should aim to keep a straight leg, in order to achieve a stretch through the hamstring. Between each repetition your heel and hand should touch the floor to reset.
