Box Jumps are a really useful movement for runners to develop explosive strength and power, which translates to a powerful stride and speed while running. Single Leg Box Jumps add an element of balance and will improve your single leg stability.

Begin by standing around one foot length back from the box (one foot being the size of your foot!). Balance on to one leg, squat down and use your arms to jump up on to the box using one leg. Land as still as you can, hold the position for a second or two before standing tall and carefully stepping off the box. Repeat the single leg hop on the same side for the instructed number of reps.

You can progress this movement by increasing the height of the block you are jumping onto.
