Box Jumps are a really useful movement for runners to develop explosive strength and power, which translates to a powerful stride and speed while running.

Set yourself up at a comfortable distance from the box, ensuring it is well secured and unlikely to slide. Standing in a squat position, lower yourself down slightly taking your arms behind you, before powerfully swinging your arms up in front of you whilst pushing up and jumping onto the box. You should aim to land with a flat foot and bent knees in order to absorb the powerful landing. You can step or jump back down off the block before repeating.

You can progress this movement by increasing the height of the block you are jumping onto.
