Calendar Syncing is an easy way to schedule your training and look back on past runs directly from your calendar. Any time you update your Runna plan or complete a workout, your calendar will automatically refresh so you can stay on top of your training.
Enabling Calendar Syncing
To connect Runna with your calendar, you’ll need to enable Calendar Syncing. To do this:
Open the Runna app and go to Connected Apps & Devices
Tap Connect Calendar
Choose which calendar(s) you’d like to sync your workouts to, and accept the required permissions.

Choosing Your Calendar Syncing Settings
By default, Runna will sync your upcoming workouts and completed activities to your calendar. If you’d like, you can choose what completed activities are synced by selecting one of the following options:
None
Completed plan workouts only
All completed activities
To update this setting, go to Connected Apps & Watches → Calendars, then select your preferred option.

Connecting Runna to Your Favorite Calendar App
Runna stores your events in a cloud-based iCalendar feed, and syncing to your calendar is as simple as subscribing to that feed in your calendar app. Most major calendar apps support iCalendar, and Runna includes setup options to help you connect quickly.
To view these options, go to Connected Apps & Watches and select Connect Calendar under Calendars. From there, you’ll see step-by-step setup for:
Your phone’s calendar (iOS only)
Google Calendar
Outlook Calendar
Other (for any calendar app that supports iCalendar)

Connecting to your Phone’s Calendar (iOS only)
If you’re using an iOS device, you can sync your Runna workouts directly to Apple Calendar. To do this:
Go to Connected Apps & Devices → Calendars
Tap Connect next to Phone Calendar
Apple Calendar will open with your Runna calendar link already filled in
Tap Subscribe to preview the events
Connecting to Google Calendar
To sync your Runna workouts to Google Calendar, follow these steps:
Head to your Profile in the Runna app (top left-hand corner)
Tap Connected Apps & Devices
Tap Connect Calendar
Tap Google Calendar and select Connect Google Calendar
You will then be prompted to sign into your Google account. Be sure to select Allow to grant Runna access.
Connecting to Outlook Calendar
To sync your Runna workouts to Outlook Calendar, follow these steps:
Go to Connected Apps & Devices → Calendars
Tap Connect next to Outlook Calendar
Copy the calendar URL shown at the top of the screen
Tap Open Outlook Calendar (this will open Outlook on the web)
Sign in to your Outlook account if prompted
In Outlook, select Subscribe from web and paste in the URL
Choose a name, colour, and icon (optional), then tap Import to add the calendar
Please note: You’ll need to add the Runna calendar via Outlook on the web - this isn’t currently supported in the Outlook mobile app.
Connecting to Other Calendars
If you don’t use Apple, Google, or Outlook Calendar, don’t worry - you can still sync your Runna workouts using the iCalendar link.
To connect another calendar app:
Go to Connected Apps & Devices → Calendars
Tap Connect next to Other Calendar
Copy the calendar URL shown at the top of the screen
Open your preferred calendar app
Look for an option like Add Calendar, Import, or Subscribe to Calendar
Paste in the URL to subscribe to your Runna calendar
Please note: Some calendar apps require setup through their web version rather than the mobile app. If you run into issues, we recommend contacting your calendar provider’s support team for further help.
Disabling
To disable Calendar Syncing, go to Connected Apps & Watches and toggle Calendar Syncing off. This will remove your iCalendar feed from the cloud and Runna will no longer sync workouts to it.
To remove Runna from your calendar, open your calendar app and unsubscribe from the Runna calendar.
Scheduling Workouts Within Your Day
Within Runna
To schedule workouts to a specific time in your day, you can either select the workout itself and press Schedule Time (next to the date), or click into your Calendar tab and press the clock icon on the workout.
Select your start or end time, and press Save. This will schedule your workout in the Runna app and sync across to your connected calendar.
Within Your Connected Calendar
You can also reschedule your Runna workouts directly in your Calendar app, and any changes will automatically sync back to Runna.
Please note: the system will not currently allow you to reschedule a workout outside of its designated week. In addition, if try to move a workout to a day that already has a run scheduled, the two workouts will swap places. This works the same way as rearranging workouts in the Runna Calendar tab.
FAQs
What should I do if I can't I see my calendar app in the 'Connect Calendars' screen?
The Connect Calendars screen includes setup for a few popular calendar apps, but not all of them. If your calendar app isn’t listed, select Other Calendar and follow the steps there. You’ll need to copy your calendar URL and paste it into your calendar app to subscribe.
The exact steps vary by provider, so if you’re stuck, we recommend contacting your calendar app’s support team for guidance.
Why are my upcoming workouts showing up as all-day events?
All-day events will appear if you've scheduled a workout without setting a specific time.
Why isn't my calendar showing the latest information from my plan?
Runna updates your iCalendar feed whenever anything changes in your account, but most calendar apps only refresh subscribed calendars every few hours. Typically updates appear within 4–8 hours, but in some cases it can take up to 24 hours.

I've turned Calendar Syncing off in Runna, but I’m still seeing Runna events in my calendar - why is this?
When you disable Calendar Syncing in Runna, we delete your calendar feed and stop sending updates. However, your calendar app may keep events it has already imported. If this happens, you’ll need to unsubscribe/remove the Runna calendar from your calendar app to clear those events.
