Managing Automatic Media Uploads from Runna to Strava
When syncing your workouts from Runna to Strava, you have the option to include media (like the progress graph of your plan or highlight images) automatically. But if you’d rather keep things simple or just prefer to upload without extras, no worries!
Here’s how to manage your preferences.
Steps to Disable Automatic Media Uploads
To stop highlight and graph images from syncing to your Strava automatically:
Open the Runna app.
Navigate to the Plan tab.
Select Connected Apps.
Tap on Strava.
Locate the Add Image to Synced Workouts option and toggle it OFF.
That’s it! Once this is turned off, no images will be automatically added to your Strava uploads. Just make sure you’re running the latest version of the app so this feature is available.
Can’t See the Setting?
If you don’t spot the Add Image to Synced Workouts option in your settings, it’s likely because your app version needs an update. Here’s how to do that:
Visit the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
Search for Runna.
Update to the latest version.
Once you’re on the latest version, you’ll be able to manage this setting easily.
Managing Title and Description Syncing to Strava
As of June 2025, titles and descriptions like “with Runna ✅” are automatically added when your workouts sync from Runna to Strava. At the moment, there’s no way to turn this off directly in the app.
That said, there’s a workaround if you’re using a Garmin device instead of recording runs in Runna:
Record your run on Garmin as usual
Make sure your Garmin Connect is synced to Strava (go to: More > Settings > Connected Apps > Strava)
Because of how Garmin files work, these activities won’t carry over any Runna titles or descriptions when they land on Strava.
Want to Turn the Images Back On?
No problem—if you ever want to re-enable image uploads, just head back into Connected Apps > Strava and switch Add Image to Synced Workouts back ON.
And if you’re a Garmin user and still seeing images pop up, toggling this setting off in the Runna app will stop those from syncing too.
