Benefits of training with a COROS watch
By pairing your Runna plan with your COROS watch, you’ll be guided in real time - no more having to remember your set distance, pace, or rest periods. Your watch will tell you exactly how much further you have left to run, what your current pace is, and how that compares to your target.
You’ll also get alerts to start, stop, speed up, and slow down, and your rest periods will automatically count down so you know exactly when to run again.
After your session, you can review your workout in the Runna app and see how it matched up against your plan.
For general training, you can also use your COROS watch to track runs, rides, and other activities (watch dependent), and view your post-workout fitness data such as pace, heart rate and progress over time.
How to pair your COROS watch with your Runna plan
To connect your COROS watch to your Runna plan, start by opening the Runna app and heading to your Profile.

How Coros handles Runna workouts
There are a few important things to know about how COROS displays the workouts that Runna sends.
All Runna workouts appear under one COROS plan
All Runna workouts will be added under the same plan in COROS. This plan is titled “Runna Training Plan” (as shown above). This means that if you have multiple Runna plans, all of them will sync into this same COROS plan, so you won’t need to repeat the connection steps when you start or switch plans.
Workouts cannot be linked to dates in the past
Runna isn’t able to send workouts to COROS on past dates. Therefore, when you connect COROS for the first time, you may see multiple workouts linked to the same day in your COROS calendar.
For example, if you connect COROS on Wednesday of Week 2, workouts from Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday may all appear on Wednesday. This ensures that you can still view the full week’s workouts in the COROS app and complete any sessions you’d like.
Workout syncing between Runna and COROS
Free week trial users
Only workouts scheduled within your free trial week will sync to Garmin.Runna Premium users
Your next two full weeks of workouts will sync to COROS every Monday.
If you switch or make changes to your current Runna plan, your COROS workouts will automatically update to reflect those changes. When you mark a workout as complete, it will also be removed from your COROS calendar.
On the days that you're not scheduled to run, we've added free runs into your calendar just in case you'd like to add a run outside of your plan (e.g parkrun).
Syncing your completed workouts from COROS to Runna
After you’ve completed your run, your completed workout will then be stored in your Runna app, COROS app and optionally synced to Strava if you have enabled the connection from within the COROS app.
You can then analyse your post-workout stats and compare them to the pace targets that you were set. If you’re consistently beating, or not making, your pace targets then we suggest editing them to make your targets challenging yet achievable.
After you’ve completed your run, your workout will be saved in both the Runna app and the COROS app. If you’ve enabled the Strava connection from within the COROS app, it can also be synced to Strava automatically.
You can then analyse your post-workout stats and compare them to your pace targets. If you’re consistently exceeding, or not quite hitting your targets, we will recommend adjustments to ensure that these remain challenging but achievable!
Recommended COROS Settings for Runna Workouts
There are a few COROS settings we recommend adjusting to get the best experience when following Runna workouts on your watch. These settings help ensure your workouts run smoothly and your data is easier to review afterward.
Units of Measurement
Please note that your COROS workout will appear in the same unit of measurement (miles/kilometres) as your Runna plan. For a smooth experience, we recommend making sure your COROS account is configured to the same unit of measurement.
Turn off auto lap
By default, COROS watches automatically create a new lap every 1 km or 1 mile. For longer intervals in Runna workouts (for example, 2km Repeats), this can cause laps to split partway through an interval and makes analyzing your average pace a little tricky.
We recommend turning off auto lap when following Runna workouts. If you’re heading out for a casual run, time trial or race, you may want to turn auto lap back on so your watch continues to provide regular pace updates.
Turn off auto pause
Auto pause automatically stops your workout when your watch detects that you’ve stopped moving, such as at traffic lights. While this can be useful on easy runs, it can cause issues during interval workouts.
During recovery periods, especially if you’re walking, auto pause may stop the workout and pause the timer counting down to your next interval. We recommend turning auto pause off and manually pausing and resuming the workout if you’re forced to stop running briefly (for example, at traffic lights).
