Android devices are equipped with advanced battery optimization techniques that may cause undesired behavior with long-running applications, such as when recording a run with Runna.
Examples of such issues include poor GPS accuracy and premature closing of the app during a ride, which can halt your ride recording.
To avoid these issues, we recommend disabling all battery optimisations for the Runna app on your device. Please follow the manufacturer-specific steps below before recording your run.
Samsung Devices:
Go to Settings and select "Apps."
From the list of apps, select Runna
Select "Battery"
From the list of options, select "Unrestricted"
Go back to Settings and select "Battery and device care"
Select "Battery" and disable any "Power Saving" settings
OnePlus Devices:
Go to Settings and select "Battery."
Tap the three-dot menu button and select "Battery optimisation."
Tap "Not Optimised" and select "All apps."
Find your app and select "Don't optimise."
Go back to "Battery optimisation"
Select the three dot icon in the top right corner
Select "Advanced Options" and then disable "Optimise App Power Consumption" and "Sleep Standby Optimisation"
Huawei/Honor Devices:
Go to Settings and select "Apps & notifications."
Select "Apps." and then tap the gear icon and select "Battery."
Tap "App launch" and select "Manage all automatically."
Find your app and toggle off the switch.
Go back to Settings and select "Battery"
Ensure any "battery saving" or "performance" modes are toggled "off"
Xiaomi Devices:
Go to Settings and select "Battery & performance."
Disable any "Battery Saver" settings
Tap "Manage apps battery usage" or "App battery saver"
Select the Runna app
Ensure that you set "No restrictions."
Go back to Settings and select "Battery Saver"
Select "Fix battery usage issue"
Uncheck the Runna app under "Close apps that drain battery"
Google Pixel Devices:
Go to Settings and select "Apps"
Select the Runna app
Select "App battery usage" and switch to Unrestricted
