Toe Scrunches are a simple exercise that stretches out and strengthens all the little muscles in your feet. This will improve balance, support the arches of your feet, and increase overall foot strength.
Toe Scrunches can be done standing up or sitting on a bench or chair. If your balance isn't great then start off in a sitting position and look to progress to standing. Once in position, place a towel (or your socks) underneath your feet. Scrunch your toes together to lift the towel off of the floor. Hold the contraction for 1-2 seconds and then release. When you release from the 'scrunch', try to widen your toes and stretch them out. Repeat for the instructed number of repetitions on each side.
