When you build your plan with Runna, your workouts are automatically arranged across the week based on what our coaches recommend for your schedule.
Choosing your plan preferences
Availability
When selecting which days you’re available to run, choose every day you can run so we can schedule your workouts optimall.
We’ll aim to keep your running schedule consistent, but we may adjust it slightly during specific phases such as deload weeks or taper periods ahead of races!
Number of runs per week
We recommend choosing either the number of times you currently run per week, or one more. Increasing your weekly mileage gradually helps reduce the risk of injury.
Long run day
The best day for a long run is the day you can actually do it! Simply choose the day that suits your schedule best, leaving enough time for pre-run fuelling and recovery, and we’ll automatically adjust the rest of your workouts to fit around your long run and other commitments.
What does my Training Calendar do?
In Runna, your Training Calendar will give you a clear view of your completed workouts, upcoming sessions, and any dynamic schedule changes.
Whether you’re travelling, managing work commitments, or just need to shuffle things around, this helps keep your training flexible and on track!
Tracking your completed activities
If you’re on a date-based plan, all workouts completed via the Runna workout on your phone or watch will link back to your planned activity and show in your calendar!
If you're not on a date-based plan, we recommend linking all completed activities back to your planned workouts to keep everything aligned! You can do this by heading into your planned workout, tapping 'link activity' and selecting your completed workout from the Activities tab.
Adding Instant Workouts
If you're feeling spontaneous, check out Instant Workouts. This feature allows you to add instant workouts into your calendar, lacing up when inspiration strikes and running on your own terms!
Scheduling workouts at specific times
You can tap a workout in your calendar to schedule it for a specific time, helping you stay organized and accountable for your training!
How do I rearrange my workouts in the Training Calendar?
You can rearrange your workouts in your Training Calendar to make it easier than ever to adjust your schedule!
If your plan has a goal end date (for example, a race plan), you can move workouts within the same week or between consecutive weeks in your Training Calendar.
To do this:
Open the Runna app and go to the Plan tab.
In your calendar, drag and drop a workout to reschedule it within the week or into the next/previous consecutive week.
Don’t forget to re-sync your smartwatch afterwards to pull through the updated workouts.
Restrictions
You can’t swap entire weeks around in your plan.
If you drag a workout from a previous week, you can only place it on a day without an existing run planned.
You can only have one planned run workout per day, but you can still schedule a yoga, Pilates, or strength workout!
