How do I add an extra run on top of my plan?

If you want to add an extra run without disrupting your scheduled sessions, you have two options:

  • Instant Workouts: For when you want structured sessions from the Runna library where you can set specific goals for time, distance, or pace. Go to Today tab → Scroll to Add Run → Choose your run type. You can also schedule an Instant Workout through the Training Calendar.

  • Free run: For when you just want to run with no structure and no guidance. Go to Today tab → Tap Record Workout. Free Runs will appear in your Activities tab once completed.

Before adding extra runs, make sure your Training Calendar is arranged to give your body enough recovery around your scheduled sessions.

How can I swap a planned workout for a club/group session?

If you want to replace a planned workout with a club run or group session, you can:

  • Do your club/group run instead of the planned workout to swap it in practice.

  • When starting your club run, you can start a Free Run on the Today Tab → Record Workout. This will then appear in your Activities Tab. You can also link the activity back to the planned workout afterwards: Plan tab → Tap the planned workout you want replaced → Link Activity

  • Alternatively, if you want personalised coaching throughout your session, you can add the club run as an Instant Workout instead of a Free Run.

Make sure the run you do as replacement of the planned workout has a matching level of effort:

  • If you’re taking it easy, swap it for an easy run in your plan.

  • If you’re pushing the pace, use it as a replacement for a speed session that week.

This helps prevent injury by keeping your overall running load balanced.

How can I add or swap a planned workout for a parkrun in my plan?

At the moment, you can log your parkrun on the day you run it by adding it as an Instant Workout:

  • Go to Today tab → Scroll down to “Add Run” → Select “parkrun” → Insert your pace target.

  • This will also sync directly to your smartwatch.

Make sure the parkrun you do as replacement of the planned workout has a matching level of effort:

  • If you’re taking it easy, swap it for an easy run in your plan.

  • If you’re pushing the pace, use it as a replacement for a speed session that week.

This helps prevent injury by keeping your overall running load balanced.
