Need to cancel?
We know this is often why people land here, so let's make it easy. We've got a dedicated guide with full platform-specific steps:
A few things worth knowing upfront:
You can cancel at any time. You'll keep access until the end of your current billing period.
Deleting the Runna app or your Runna account does not cancel your subscription. You'll need to cancel through your payment platform (Apple, Google Play, or Paddle).
Once cancelled, your data stays saved. You can always resubscribe and pick up where you left off.
On a free trial?
We understand that trial billing can feel uncertain. Here's what you need to know:
You won't be charged until your free trial ends. If you don't cancel before it expires, your subscription will start automatically and you'll be charged at that point.
Key details
Your trial is typically 7 days (longer if you used a referral or partner code).
You'll need to cancel at least 24 hours before your trial expires if you don't want to be charged.
Your trial will expire if you don't create a plan within 48 hours of downloading the Runna app.
How to check your trial status and renewal date
In the Runna app: Go to Profile (top right) to see your subscription status and renewal date.
Apple (iOS): Open Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Runna.
Google Play: Open Google Play Store > Profile > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Runna.
Paddle (web): Log in to the Paddle Customer Portal.
Want to skip the trial?
If you haven't activated a free trial yet and prefer to pay straight away, you have two options:
Checking your subscription status
Not sure what plan you're on, or whether your cancellation went through? Here's how to check.
In the Runna app
Tap Profile (top right). You'll see your current subscription type and status.
iOS (Apple App Store)
Open Settings.
Tap [Your Name] (Apple ID).
Tap Subscriptions.
Select Runna.
Tap See All Plans.
You'll see a list of available plans. The one you currently have active will be marked with a tick.
If you can't see your Runna subscription, you may have signed up using Apple Private Relay. To check:
Open Settings.
Tap your name at the top (Apple ID).
Tap iCloud.
Select Hide My Email.
You'll see a list of the random email addresses created using Hide My Email, along with the apps and services they're linked to.
Web (Paddle)
Open a web browser and head to the Paddle Customer Portal.
Log in using the email address linked to your Runna account.
Once logged in, you'll be able to view your subscription type and billing details.
What does a successful cancellation look like?
Once you've cancelled, your subscription should show as cancelled (or similar wording) under your Runna Premium subscription in the app or payment platform.
Switching between monthly and annual
What's the difference?
Monthly: You can view and access all workouts scheduled in the next 4 weeks of your plan. Workouts beyond that unlock as you progress.
Annual: You can view and access your entire training plan, including every workout's details.
How to switch
To change between monthly and annual, you'll need to:
Cancel your existing subscription (see cancellation guide).
Wait for your current billing period to end.
Resubscribe to your preferred subscription type.
We would recommend switching at the end of a billing period to avoid any gap in your access.
Managing your payment details
Purchased via Apple App Store or Google Play
Tap the Subscription button in the Runna app to open your relevant App Store and manage your subscription directly.
Purchased on the web via Paddle
Open a web browser and head to the Paddle Customer Portal.
Log in using the email address linked to your Runna account.
Once logged in, you'll see the option to update your payment method or cancel your subscription.
Can the Customer Experience team change my card details?
No. For security reasons, payment details must be updated by you via Apple, Google Play, or the Paddle Customer Portal (depending on where you subscribed).
My payment failed
Update your payment method in the same place you subscribed (Apple, Google Play, or Paddle) and try again. If it still fails, contact us via the in-app support channel and we'll do our best to help.
Can I change my billing date?
Your billing date is managed by Apple, Google Play, or Paddle and can't be adjusted. You'll be charged on the monthly or yearly anniversary of the date you originally subscribed to Runna Premium.
Can't log in?
If you're locked out of your account and need to manage your subscription, here's what to do:
Try resetting your password via the login screen in the Runna app.
Check if you signed up with a different email (including Apple Private Relay or Google sign-in). Your subscription is tied to the email used during sign-up.
Still stuck? Contact our in-app support team (or email us) with:
- The email address you think is linked to your account
- Whether you subscribed via Apple, Google Play, or the web
- Any receipt or confirmation email you have from your original purchase
We'll get back to you and help sort it out.
Free access (no subscription)
If you choose not to start a trial, cancel a trial, or unsubscribe from Runna Premium, you'll still have access to the Runna app with more limited features.
You'll continue to get free access to Week 1 of any plan, plus:
Recording runs
Importing activities
Viewing your completed workouts
However, you won't be able to access, record, or sync planned workouts beyond Week 1, receive coaching guidance from our Customer Support team, or access Premium Offers.
FAQs
Can I get a refund for Runna Premium?
If you accidentally subscribed or are having issues using the app, please reach out to our in-app Support Team. We'll do our best to resolve your concerns and guide you through the refund process if you'd still like to proceed.
Please note: refunds are processed by the platform you subscribed through (Apple, Google, Paddle, or Strava) and they're responsible for approving or denying requests. If you subscribed via Paddle, you can also request support directly via the Paddle Order Support Portal.
Why can't I see workouts further ahead on a trial or monthly plan?
On a free trial or monthly subscription, you can only view workouts within your current billing period (the time you've already paid for or are currently trialling). Workouts further ahead will be locked. If you'd like to see your full plan in advance, an annual subscription gives you longer-term access and may be a better fit.
Can I start a paid subscription before my free trial ends?
Your free trial already includes full access to all Premium features, so there's usually no need to upgrade early. You'll need to let your trial run until it ends. At that point your Premium subscription will begin, you'll be charged, and workouts for your next billing period will become available.
Do you offer a weekly subscription?
Currently we don't offer a weekly subscription. You can choose from monthly or annual billing cycles.
I can't see my subscription in my App Store
If you can't find your subscription, try restoring your purchases in the Runna app:
Open the Runna app.
Go to your Profile (top right).
Scroll down and tap Restore Purchases.
Check your App Store or Google Play subscriptions again.
It may take some time for the store to sync. If you're still having trouble, please contact our in-app Support Team and we'll help.
