What Does My Training Calendar Do?

Your Training Calendar is your real-time view of everything happening in your plan: upcoming sessions, completed workouts, and how your week is taking shape. With the Training Calendar, you can:

  • Move individual workouts within the same week, or one week forward or backward.

  • Schedule workouts at specific times.

  • Add additional runs on top of your Plan runs with Instant Workouts.

  • Track your completed activities.

You can also sync your Training Calendar with your own personal Calendar app that you use. See Syncing Runna to Your Calendar & Scheduling Your Workouts on how to do it.

How to Schedule a Workout at a Specific Time of Day

  1. Go to the Plan tab.

  2. Tap the Calendar Icon (top-right) or Tap Rearrange Workouts button.

  3. Tap the the workout you want to schedule a time for.

  4. Toggle Add Time on and choose a time you want to do this run.

  5. Tap Save (top-right).

How to Move a Workout to a Different Day

  1. Go to the Plan tab.

  2. Tap the Calendar Icon (top-right) or Tap Rearrange Workouts button.

  3. Drag and drop a workout to reschedule it.

  4. Tap Save (top-right).

  5. If you’re using a smartwatch, don’t forget to re-sync it afterwards to pull through the updated workouts.

You may see a warning message if a change could impact your training. It’s up to you if you go ahead.

Restrictions on where you can reschedule a workout:

  • You can only move a workout within the same week, or one week forward or one week backward.

  • You can only reschedule a workout on a day that doesn’t have an existing Plan run workout

  • You can only move one single workout, you cannot move your workouts in a batch or swap entire weeks in your plan.

We’re working towards giving you even more flexibility in the future!

When Should I Use the Training Calendar to Rearrange My Workouts?

The Training Calendar is meant for temporary, individual workout schedule changes. For more permanent changes to your running schedule or routine throughout your plan (like changing your Available Running Days, Number of Runs per week or your Long Run days) go to PlanManage Plan → Scroll to Running Schedule.

I want to…

Where to do it

Move a single workout to a different day this week, next week or the previous week

Plan → Training Calendar (top-right) → drag and drop

Change which day my long run falls on every week, how many runs I do per week or my available running days

Plan → Manage Plan → Running Schedule

How Can I Add Additional Runs With the Training Calendar?

You can add additional runs to your plan on top of your Plan runs with our Instant Workout feature. To do this:

  1. Go to the Plan tab.

  2. Tap the Calendar Icon (top-right) or tap Rearrange Workouts.

FAQs

Can I rearrange workouts more than one week ahead?

No, individual workouts can only be moved one week forward or backward to protect your plan structure and training progression.

Can I move workouts to past weeks?

No, when your previous week has already passed, individual workouts can only be moved within the current week, or the next one.

Can I have multiple planned runs in one day?

You can only have one Plan run per day. A Plan run is a run that was scheduled when you created your Runna plan. You can add additional runs on top of your Plan runs with an Instant Workout, but these will not form part of your plan.

How do I swap full weeks around in my plan?

You can’t swap entire weeks in your plan. However, you can move individual workouts forward or backward by one week using the Training Calendar.

Can I reschedule a Long Run?

Yes, drag and drop the scheduled long run to your desired day, within the same week or one week forward or backward. If you want to permanently change which day your long run falls on every week, go to Plan → Manage Plan → Running Schedule → Long Run Day.

How do I delete a scheduled or planned run?

You can’t delete a single planned workout right now. This is because your plan’s progression is based on the fitness you build from each session, and removing one can affect how future workouts are set.

Here are the best options depending on your situation:

  • Do it on another day: Drag and drop the workout to a different day in the calendar.

  • Can’t do it at all: Simply skip the session.

  • Want to do something different: Add an Instant Workout and skip the planned session.

  • Need to change your routine long-term: Adjust your Running Schedule and Availability in the Plan Tab → Manage Plan → Scroll to Running Schedule.
