Updated this week

The Rearrange Workouts feature in Runna V3 makes scheduling your training more flexible than ever. But that’s not all—your updated Training Calendar also gives you a complete view of your progress, completed workouts, and dynamic scheduling adjustments.

Whether you’re traveling, juggling work, or just need to shuffle things around, this update ensures your training stays on track. Here’s everything you need to know to get the most out of it.

Key Features of the Training Calendar

1. Track Your Completed Activities

  • Linked Activities: If you’ve linked an activity (e.g., from your GPS watch), it will display in your calendar instead of the corresponding workout.

  • Completed Workouts: No linked activity? No problem! If you have a date-based plan, completed workouts will show the original workout with a tick.

    • If you don't have a date-based plan, we encourage you to link activities to all workouts once they're recorded so we can provide you with the best training calendar experience!

2. Add Instant Workouts

If you're feeling spontaneous, check out Instant Workouts. This feature allows you to lace up when inspiration strikes and run on your own terms.

3. Schedule Workouts at Specific Times

Click on a workout to set a specific time, helping you stay organized throughout your day.

How to Rearrange Workouts

1. Move Workouts Within or Across Weeks

Open the Runna app and navigate to the Plan tab. Drag and drop a workout within the same week or shift it +/- 1 week.

2. Restrictions on Moving Workouts

  • Workouts can’t be moved to past weeks.

  • If dragging a workout from a past week (in dated plans), it can only be placed on a day without an existing run.

  • You can only have one planned run per day, but you can pair it with mobility, pilates, or strength.

3. Dynamic Rescheduling for Non-Dated Plans

In non-date-based plans, the calendar dynamically adjusts based on your completed or missed workouts:

  • If you skip or miss a workout, subsequent workouts will automatically shift to keep your plan aligned.

  • Rearrange missed workouts from previous days back into the current week.

How Dynamic Scheduling Works

Here’s how workouts adjust dynamically in non-date-based plans:

  • If your plan has workouts on Thurs 14th, Fri 15th, and Sat 16th:

    • Completing the Thurs 14th workout keeps Fri and Sat on track.

    • If Thurs 14th is missed, Fri and Sat workouts are pushed back to the next week (22nd/23rd).

    • To stay on track, you can reschedule the Thurs workout to a different day within the current week. Once done, Fri and Sat workouts will return to the current week, with the original spacing of the plan in place.

FAQs

Q: Can I rearrange workouts more than one week ahead?

Currently, workouts can only be moved within a one-week range forward or backward for optimal plan structure.

Q: Can I move workouts to past weeks?

No, workouts can only be moved within the current or future weeks.

Q: What happens if I ignore a missed workout in a non-date plan?

The calendar will automatically shift future workouts forward until you complete or mark the missed session as skipped.

Q: Can I have multiple planned runs in one day?

No, only one planned run is allowed per day, but you can add mobility, pilates, or strength to the same day.

Linked activities (e.g., from Garmin or Coros) reflect on your calendar and adjust dynamically based on your completion status.
