At Runna, we believe running is for everyone. Whether you’re just starting out, getting back into it, or looking for simple ways to stay consistent, there’s plenty you can use in the app without starting a trial or paying for a subscription.

Start running with a Free Plan

Some of our most beginner-friendly training plans are completely free to use - including New to Running and Return to Running. These programmes are designed by our coaching team to help you build fitness safely and gradually, with no previous experience required.

Once you’ve picked a plan, you can also rearrange your workouts to fit your week. Got a busy few days coming up? No worries! Just move sessions around so your training fits around your life, not the other way around.

Just want a workout? Try Instant Workouts!

You don’t have to follow a full training plan to run with structure. Instant Workouts let you generate a session on the spot based on how much time you’ve got, or the kind of effort you’re in the mood for!

They’re great for intervals, steady runs, or quick lunchtime treadmill sessions. You can record them straight from the app, sync them to a third-party device (e.g Garmin or COROS), or simply use them as inspiration if you’re heading out without technology!

Track Runs with the Free Apple Watch App

The Runna Apple Watch app is free for everyone. You can use it to record outdoor runs, treadmill runs, or Instant Workouts, even if you’re not following a training plan.

And if you don’t have a performance watch, no problem - you can still track your progress manually in the Runna app!

Strength, Pilates, Yoga and Stretch

Runna isn’t just about running, as we know that optimal training includes a holistic approach to movement. Runners who include cross-training, strength and stability work are more likely to to stay healthy and consistent.

That’s why we’ve built a growing library of strength, yoga, Pilates and stretch & and stability sessions. These are designed specifically for runners and are great for injury prevention, recovery and all-round performance!

You’ll find these in the app or on our YouTube channel, and you can do them with little or no equipment.

Connect with the Community & access support

There’s a whole network of support waiting for you. You can join in-app communities based on your location or interests, ask questions, share your progress, and even connect with local runners for group runs or meetups.

Our Support Centre is also packed with free resources. Whether you’re looking for pacing tips, basic nutritional guidance or a motivational boost, you’ll find expert advice designed to support runners at every level.

We regularly share advice on things like affordable gear, second-hand kit options and low-cost or free races, such as parkruns!
