Buying the Strava + Runna Subscription (If You’re Not Currently Subscribed)

If you don’t already have an active Runna Premium or Strava subscription, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Strava website, or open the Strava app via the iOS App Store or Google Play Store.

  2. Purchase the Strava + Runna Subscription.

  3. After purchasing, you’ll receive a confirmation page and email with a link to unlock Runna Premium.

What Happens After Purchase?

Your access to Runna Premium will activate in one of three ways:

1. If you're new to Runna

  • Click the link from your confirmation email.

  • You'll be taken to the App Store to download Runna.

  • Create a new account and tap "Sync with Strava" to unlock Runna Premium!

2. If you already have Runna Installed

  • Click the link and log in to your Runna account.

  • You'll be prompted to sync with Strava to unlock your Strava + Runna Subscription access.

⚠️ Your progress will be saved! Don't worry - you won’t lose your current Runna training plan, progress, or preferences by connecting your Runna + Strava accounts. Everything will sync up once your subscription is activated.

3. If You Already Have Runna and Strava Connected

  • Click the link and open Runna.

  • You'll see a success screen confirming your Premium access!

Buying the Strava + Runna Subscription (If You’re Currently Subscribed to Runna Premium)

There are a couple of options depending on your current Runna Premium subscription type:

On a monthly subscription?

We recommend cancelling your subscription renewal now. Once your Runna Premium subscription has expired, you can then purchase the Strava + Runna subscription directly through Strava.

On an annual subscription?

We recommend waiting until your annual subscription expires before purchasing the Strava + Runna subscription.

If you’d prefer to purchase the Strava + Runna subscription immediately, you can cancel your Runna standalone subscription. However, you won’t receive a refund for the remaining time on your annual plan.

⚠️ Important: The deadline for offering joint subscription extensions for those who were on an existing Runna Premium plan has now passed.

Buying the Strava + Runna Subscription (If You Have Two Separate Active Subscriptions)

If you currently have two separate active subscriptions (one with Runna and one with Strava), you’ll need to switch over once your Runna Premium subscription ends:

  1. Cancel your Runna renewal and wait for your Runna Premium subscription to expire.

  2. Once it’s expired, go to Strava and purchase the Strava + Runna subscription.

  3. Make sure you subscribe using the same platform as your existing Strava subscription (Apple iOS, Android/Google Play, or Strava Web).

What Happens to Your Existing Strava Subscription?

If you’re an existing Strava iOS subscriber

You’ll pay the full price for your new subscription at checkout. After purchase, Apple will automatically issue a pro-rated refund based on the time remaining on your current Strava iOS subscription. This is handled by Apple, so no manual action is needed from the Runna team.

If you’re an existing Strava Android subscriber

Instead of a refund, the length of your new joint subscription will be automatically extended based on the value remaining on your existing Strava Android subscription. This happens automatically, so there’s no need to contact Runna Support.

If you’re an existing Strava Web subscriber

There is no refund for Strava Web subscribers, so a discount will be applied at checkout when you purchase the new subscription.

Refunds and Strava Support Guidance

If you’ve purchased the Strava x Runna bundle, your subscription and payment are managed directly by Strava. This means we’re unable to process a refund on our side.

    • Tap Connected Apps > Strava

    • Toggle Strava OFF, then back ON again

  2. Log out and back in:

  3. Ensure your apps are up to date.

FAQs

I'm already a Strava Subscriber and want to purchase Runna, what should I do?

If you’re currently subscribed to Strava and want to switch to the joint Strava + Runna Subscription, please see Strava's guide on how to switch. Please contact Strava's support team if you need help switching.

Make sure to purchase the bundle using the same platform you originally used to subscribe to Strava (Google Play, Apple iOS, or Web).

Does a Strava subscription come with Runna Premium?

A standard Strava Premium subscription does not include access to Runna Premium. Only the joint Strava + Runna Subscription includes both.

I'm already a Runna Premium Subscriber, can I get a refund?

Unfortunately, we're unable to offer refunds or extensions. We recommend cancelling your Runna subscription renewal, then waiting until your Runna subscription expires before purchasing the joint Strava + Runna Subscription.

If you've subscribed to Runna recently, you might be able to get a refund from the platform where you signed up (Apple App Store, Google Play, or Paddle) if it's within 48 hours of subscribing. You can see how to request a refund here.

Do I have to use the same email address for both my Runna and Strava accounts?

No, you don’t need to use the same email address for both your Runna and Strava accounts. After you’ve purchased the Strava + Runna bundle, just connect the correct Strava account inside the Runna app to unlock Premium:

Runna app → Plan tab → Connected Apps → Strava

When you switch subscription methods, all of your account data (including your training plan, progress, and preferences) will remain saved in the app.

If I move to the bundle, will I lose my training plan?

Nope! All of your plan progress and data is saved to your Runna account, so once you’ve connected your Strava and Runna accounts you’ll be able to access your existing plan as normal. The only difference is that your subscription will now be managed through the Strava + Runna bundle, and you’ll also have access to Strava Premium.

To connect your accounts:

  1. Open the Runna app.

  2. Navigate to Profile > Connected Apps & Devices > Strava.

  3. Confirm that your accounts are synced to ensure seamless integration.

Can I use a discount like student pricing?

No. The joint subscription is already heavily discounted and not eligible for further reductions. This means the Strava + Runna Subscription cannot be combined with any discount (e.g student, military or medical), and it's not part of Strava's Family Plan or applicable for gifted Strava subscriptions either.

If you're currently on a discounted Strava or Runna plan and want to switch to the Strava + Runna subscription, you are required to wait for your current subscription to expire before upgrading to the joint subscription.

Can I use this on Android?

Yes, the joint subscription bundle is available across iOS, Android and Web subscriptions!

I can't see the joint subscription bundle at the Strava checkout, what should I do?

First, please make sure that you've updated to the latest version of the Strava app! This needs to be at least version 418.01. If you still can't see it the bundle, please contact Strava Support directly.

The Takeaway!

Whether you’re brand new to both platforms or making the switch from an existing subscription, the Strava + Runna Subscription is designed to make your training simpler, smarter, and more connected.

With one plan, one price, and everything you need to hit your goals, it’s a powerful way to level up your running all year long.
